The challenge

A serious firm on a site that didn't read like one.

Partners Chad Mason and Kahn Kassegn run a busy trial practice across criminal, family, and civil work. Their site, though, lived on a dated Wix build: slow to load, awkward to update, and missing depth on the practice areas that actually bring clients in the door.

It also wasn't being found. Indexing was patchy, there was no real analytics or Search Console picture, and the largest piece of every page took roughly six seconds to paint, long enough to lose a prospective client mid-search.

The firm needed a site that matched the calibre of the practice, that they could update without calling anyone, and that wouldn't break their email or drop their existing pages the day it went live.

The approach

Keep the brand. Rebuild everything under it.

I kept what was working, the navy-and-gold identity the firm is known for, and rebuilt the entire site beneath it in Astro, a modern static stack that ships fast by default. One senior person on the whole thing, no handoffs.

1. Rebuild in Astro, every practice area written out in full, fresh photography, a live Google-reviews ticker.
2. Migrate Wix → Cloudflare, moved to their own domain with near-zero downtime and email preserved end to end.
3. Fix the foundations, GA4, Search Console, a real sitemap, indexing repaired, performance tuned.
4. Hand over the keys, a self-publishing Decap CMS (GitHub-backed) so the firm posts insight articles itself.

The outcome

Faster, found, and theirs to run.
